You can buy fishing licences online here on Relax Fishing Sweden. The voucher/payment receipt is valid as a fishing licence. Fold it and insert it in a plastic pocket on your sleeve according to the instructions below.
If you can’t print out your own fishing licence, the Tourist Office in Halmstad can help you print it. You can also pay for fishing licences at the Tourist Office in Halmstad.
Day fishing cards are valid for Toftasjön. Fee:
Adults: SEK 250 per day
Children 12 to 16 years: SEK 150 per day
Children under 12 years of age who are accompanied by an adult can fish free of charge, provided the adult has a valid fishing licence. The catch is counted towards the adult’s quota. (If no adult is present, the child must have a fishing licence.)
5.2.2 Day fishing card rules in Toftasjön:
The receipt/voucher you receive when you pay should be printed onto white paper and used as a fishing licence. The upper part of the A4 page contains information which you should fold so that your name and barcode are visible in the plastic pocket you wear on your arm according to the instructions under Fishing Rules. If you have made several purchases in one order, print out the same number of receipts/vouchers so that everyone who has paid is wearing a fishing licence. Be ready to present a valid fishing licence together with an ID document.

Fishing is permitted in Toftasjön, but only by holders of a valid fishing licence. The jetties are provided to make fishing easier.
- Only fishing from land is permitted.
- Fishing from gardens and islands is prohibited.
The fishing period is as long as the lake is free of ice, and between 06.00-24.00. Fishing is prohibited at other times.
Fishing equipment and permitted bait
- You may only fish using a fly or spinner.
- Only one fishing reel may be used at a time per person.
- Other equipment is strictly prohibited.
- Angling with worms, Power Bait, corn or other similar baits is prohibited.

- Only two rainbow trout may be caught per day and per fishing licence.
Catches must be reported here the database for fish registration in southern Sweden. The database is an important tool for fish conservation and the status of our fish stocks and gives indications of the actions required in rivers, lakes and the sea. Failure to report your catch will be seen as poaching.
Anglers who break these rules may be excluded from fishing in the future. Legal action may also be taken against such anglers.
Monitoring of fish
Anglers must follow the fish conservation area’s rules together with any further instructions provided by the fish warden. Anglers breaking the rules or failing to comply with the fish warden’s instructions may be excluded and forced to return their fishing licence without compensation.
Respect and ethical rules
Display respect to the natural environment and to other people. Do not leave broken fishing equipment such as lines and hooks or rubbish which can injure birds and animals. Fish which are to be kept should be killed immediately.
Changes or additions to the rules may occur during the year and will be announced on the website. As an angler you are responsible for keeping yourself informed about current angler rules. Infringing these rules can lead to withdrawal of your fishing rights. The rules can be changed without any right to compensation from the Fish conservation area.
