2014 Nissan Live Release fishing contest
A unique fishing contest began in spring 2014 – the Nissan Live Release contest. Anglers had a chance to win great prizes while they took responsibility and contributed to the conservation of Atlantic salmon and sea trout. Mattias Höjman won both first and second prize and will be going to the River Dee in week 13 of 2015 with his new fishing rod. Andreas Mattsson won third prize, waders and boots.
Congratulations and well done lads!
The Live Release fishing method
is an important measure to maintain and ultimately increase fish stocks, for example of Atlantic salmon, and is being used in many other countries with good results. Every registered and released salmon or trout caught according to the Live Release method gave a ticket for the prize draw in the autumn, after the end of the season. The contest in the Nissan’s lower fish conservation area began on 1 May and ended on 30 September 2014. The competition is just one of a number of measures being undertaken to improve the fish populations of the different species that live in the Nissan.
